Tackling the task of marketing your association can be overwhelming. Many associations hand this duty to one to two people making it even more overwhelming! Luckily, technology and hacks can make this job easier.
Blogging and developing content. Your blog is a fantastic resource for your members. It gives them the educational content they are looking for in a quick 5-6 minute read. Creating blog content, however, can be time-consuming and can lead to a lack of creativity. Seek help! You have a couple of options when it comes to finding inspiration for your blog. One thought is to call for writers through your membership. Your membership is filled with diverse people with diverse skills. Writing might just be one of those skills and reaching out to members will give them a chance to shine and get involved in a new way. If members are not pulling through for you, try looking at other blogs! You can either ask the website if you can use the blog on your own and give them credit or just get topic ideas. Once you think of the topic, you likely have plenty of experience to write on it yourself.
Growing your social profiles. Creating an engaging and active online presence requires quite a bit of time, though, and again, content! Solve these problems by automating as much as you can. Platforms like Hootsuite and Later will save you an immense amount of time by planning out your posts for the month all at once. If you are stuck on what to post, try linking back to your website’s content, highlighting members, and sharing those blog posts you perfected.
Interact with your followers and members. Although automation is a lifesaver, you cannot replace natural interaction. Commenting, liking, and responding to your followers is the best way to keep people coming back for more. Take the time to log in to your accounts and connect with others.
